Pol Lt Gen Panya Mamen, assistance national police chief, told a press conference that the arrests took place in all 26 districts of the northeastern province in the past week to tackle crimes and narcotics in the lead-up to the float festival.
The 350 suspects comprise 50 persons arrested for firearm offences, 148 for gambling, four for prostitution, two for entertainment-venue offences and 146 on narcotics charges covering production, sales, abuse-oriented possession, and addiction.
In the roundup, police seized 50 guns, 13,768 speed pills, 13.3 grammes of crystal methamphetamine, 30.9 kilogrammes of compressed marijuana bars and a marijuana plant.
Pol Lt Gen Panya said that the intensified campaign against crimes would continue. It would target crime-prone areas and soldiers took part in the efforts, he said.
