An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale occurred inside Myanmar at 11.33am on Monday with the epicentre about 581km northwest of Muang district of Mae Hong Son province, the seismology office of the Thai Meteorological Department reported.
No damage or casualty reports were available.
The quake had no effect on Thailand, the report said.
