Police found the body of the man, whose name was withheld, on the ground in front of the building near the Udomsuk BTS station. The windshield of a Chevrolet car parked near his body was damaged, with the left rear-view mirror broken.

His South Korean roommate told police that he and the man had just visited Thailand for about one month on a tourist visa. During their stay, he saw nothing wrong with the victim. He said he did not know why his friend decided to jump to his death.

Police and forensic officers inspected the room and found no traces of struggle inside. Samples of footprints found on an air-conditioning compressor on the balcony were collected to help police establish the cause of his death.

Police have contacted the South Korean embassy to inform relatives of the dead man.
