City police have arrested four young men and seized 44,000 methamphetamine pills and 200 grammes of crystal meth in their possession.
The four suspects were caught near a shopping mall in the Ratchayothin area of Bangkok as they were about to deliver speed pills to a client, said Pol Col Panthana Nuchanart, deputy commander of the Metropolitan Police.
The four were led by Amarin Wattanasiriwit, alleged to be the leader of a gang known as the Mikado, the officer added.
Police also confiscated a 9mm pistol, 30 bullets, a pickup truck and a modified sedan.
Police said the suspects told them that they had obtained ya ba and ice from a drug ring in Pathum Thani and had been involved in the drug trade for about three years.
They said the drugs were kept in a luxurious condominium unit in the Ratchayothin area, and that they used the drug money to upgrade and modify their cars.
