Three murdered in Songkhla

Three men were killed in two separate gun attacks in Songkhla province early Sunday, police said.

Pol Col Waiwit Nopparat, the acting Muang district police chief, said the first incident in which two men died occurred at about 1am at a house for rent in tambon Kor Yo near Songkhla Lake in Muang district.

According to witnesses, a man identified only as Hia, 50, arrived at the house on a motorcycle while Montree sae Kang, 30, and his younger brother Srirat, 28, were fishing along with three friends.

Hia reportedly shot Montree two times in the head with a 9mm pistol, killing him instantly. The gunman then went after Srirat, who tried to run away, and shot him many times in the body.

Police are still looking for the man called Hia.

The other shooting took place at about the same time in front of an LPG station in tambon Khao Roop Chang in Muang district of Songkhla.

While Suthan Rattanamanee, 44, of Songkhla's Singha Nakhon district, was waiting for a friend in front of the station when a pickup truck arrived.  A man in the vehicle rolled down the window and shot him twice in the head and body, killing him instantly.

The pickup truck sped away.
