An army lieutenant was killed and three rangers injured when an armoured vehicle they were travelling in on Highway 42 in Muang district of Pattani province overturned after a tyre burst, police said.
Pol Maj Cholathorn Sangthong of Muang district police station said the four soldiers of Ranger Company 4404 were on the way to get logistical support from Anothai Task Force when the tyre burst, causing the vehicle to overturn. The accident took place at around 9am
Lt Saksin Chumthong, the company commander, was killed. Three ranger volunteers — Mananusi Ngolae, Chamnan Thongrod and Tinnapat Silapkua — were injured and admitted to Pattani Hospital.
