Food shops sold sex near army camp

Two shops offering Isan food for sale immdiately alongside a military camp in Chachoengsao province have been shut down for operating as a front for prostitution.

A combined team of soldiers and local officials, led by Chachoengsao governor Anukul Tangkhananuchai, raided ‘Lady Prink’ and ‘Larp 108’’ Isan food shops on Supaprayoon Road, near the fence around the Somdej Phranangklao army camp, in tambon Khlongna in Muang district about 10.30pm on Tuesday.

They reported finding many young girls serving male customers. At least 50 Lao girls from the two shops were detained and many condoms, lists detailing times for each girl to provide sex services to customers and cash were seized.

Mr Anukul said on Wednesday that there had been complaints that the two food shops had brought in Lao girls to provide sex services to customers.

He immediaetly ordered the closure of the two shops. The two caretakers of the shops were detained and charged with procuring girls for prostitution and hiring  illegal migrant workers.

They were all sent to Muang police station for further processing.
