A Russian man wanted for smuggling home muscle-enhancing steroids from Thailand has been arrested on Jomtien beach in Chon Buri.

A team of local police and soldiers from the 14th Army Circle on Thursday announced the arrest of Igor Cherkesov, 47, who was wanted on an international arrest warrant for smuggling steroids into Russia, said police. The amount of steroids was not disclosed.
The suspect was apprehended in front of a fitness club at Soi Bunkanchanaram near the Pattaya-area beach on Thursday.
Mr Cherkesov confessed he had bought steroids from a Thai agent to sell in his country. He has been charged with smuggling muscle-enhancing substances and overstaying his visa. He was handed over to Pattaya police for legal action.
