NAKHON SI THAMMARAT — A headless corpse was found on a beach by fishermen in Pak Panang district on Tuesday morning, police said.
Pol Lt Col Wasan Taengkliang, a duty officer at Pak Panang police station, said he received a report at 8.15am that the unidentified man's body washed ashore on Ban Kong Khong beach.
Police could not yet determine the man's age.
The victim wore underwear and a long-sleeved shirt. There were injury marks on the neck and wounds on the body.
After questioning witnesses, investigators thought the body might be a fisherman who was assaulted and murdered while at sea in the Gulf of Thailand.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
