Karn Traiampawong, 30, told Chok Chai police he was heading home around 10.30pm Wednesday, driving in Soi Yothin Pattana in Bang Kapi district.

He overtook a slow vehicle and returned to the left lane to avoid a bicycle travelling in the opposite direction.

He had almost arrived home when the cyclist cut in front of him, forcing him to stop. The rider turned out to be the 29-year-old TV bad-guy actor.

Mr Karn said Gun tried unsuccesfful to wrench open  his vehicle's door. He lowered the window so they could talk. The actor was upset and abused him.

When Mr Karn unlocked his door and went to get out of the vehicle for a talk, the actor pulled open the door and then grabbed the keys from the ignition.

He complained to police that Gun then slapped him six times and accused him of a hit and run.

Mr Karn said he told the actor that he did not even know he had hit his bicycle. He apologised and was ready to take responsibility for any injury. Mr Karn asked for his car keys back, but the actor told him to get them from a nearby restaurant and left.

The man then went to his home to get a spare set of keys for his car and went on the internet to look up the actor, who is quite famous for his role as a bad guy.

Mr Karn went to the restaurant with the police, but Gun was not there. Restaurant staff informed them that the actor had left.

The police laid preliminary charges of robbery, defamation and assault against the TV soap star.
