Panadda: 90% of complaints tackled

More than 100,000 complaints have flooded in to the government’s problem solving centre over the past six months and 90.2% of them have been tackled, Prime Minister’s Office Minister ML Panadda Diskul said on Sunday.

The government has opened five channels – hot line 1111, website www.1111.go.th, PO Box 1111, people’s service centre and the National Council for Peace and Centre’s headquarters — for people to lodge complaints. It has received 111,399 complaints over the past six months, said ML Panadda, the permanent secretary for the PM’s Office.

Government officers have so far tackled 90.2% of them, while the remaining 9.8% have yet to be addressed. Most of the complaints concerned household debt from the non-formal lending system and illicit drugs, Matichon Online reported.

ML Panadda said the government was satisfied with its work in addressing people’s problems. Officials from 20 ministries have been stationed at the complaint centre to handle problems, enabling swifter action.

He said more channels would be opened this year for people to bring their grievances to the attention of authorities. Complaint centres would be opened in local areas and complaints counters would be set up at shopping malls.
