RATCHABURI — A woman plunged to her death after the cable of an elevator at a temple suddenly snapped on Sunday morning, police said.

The woman was named as Savitree Plookboonsong, a 28-year-old housekeeper at Wat Nong Hoi in Muang district, Ratchaburi province.
Before the incident, Savitree was bringing food to monks on the third floor of the four-storey temple. After the lift reached the third floor, the cable snapped as the door started to open.
Savitree was not able to get out of the lift and died after it plunged to the basement.
