Visitors to Somphop market in tambon Om Yai of Sam Phran district, Nakhon Pathom province, need not beware of the dogs, just a hot-tempered old woman who has been repeatedly videoed aggressively coercing people to buy her flowers.
Several video clips of the unidentified woman have been posted online recently. Those who posted the clips reported they saw the fierce vendor, with her rude ways, from early December to mid-January.
The vendor placed flowers in the hands of Buddhists waiting to give alms to monks at the market in the morning in a manner which indicated she was just old lady asking for a small favour from alms givers - to just help pass her flowers to the monks.
First-time victims who were generous enough to respond positively were seconds later stunned with the granny's threatening demands that they pay 40 baht for her flowers. She deafeningly insisted those alms givers were customers who already agreed to buy her flowers.
Other vendors who noticed her behaviour cursed at the old woman and shouted out that she should leave the market. She ignored them. Some netizens even claimed the woman simply collected used flowers for her hard-sell tactics.
