Two tech college students murdered

Two 16-year-old first-year students at Pathum Thani Technology College were shot dead while wearing their school uniforms in Thanyaburi district on Thursday morning, police said.

Pol Lt Supachai Prakobchan, duty officer at Pratunam Chulalongkorn police station, said the attack occurred about 9.20am.

The two students were travelling on a motorcycle from Fakhram Nakhon housing estate in Khukhot district along Soi 30 off the Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok highway, heading for the college.

Fellow student Phumphat Rerkcharoen, 16, their friend, told police he was riding a motorcycle behind them. Another motorcycle overtook them and he heard five or six gunshots.

He said the two students - Thapanapong Khieocha-um and Kittisak Nakphan, both 16 - fell from their motorcycle to the ground.  Their attackers fled in the direction of Rangsit along Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok highway.

The two students were seriously wounded.  Thapanapong was admitted to Prachathipat Hospital and Kittisak to Pathumvej Hospital. They both later died.
