Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will have an audience with Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito during his official visit to Japan.
Government spokesman Youngyuth Mayalarp confirmed yesterday that Gen Prayut and his wife Naraporn Chan-o-cha are scheduled to have an audience with Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito on Monday at the Crown Prince's residence in Tokyo.
During his three-day trip from Sunday to Tuesday, the premier will lead more than 50 delegates to the country to sign two major agreements on a railway project development and business cooperation.
The visit is aimed at improving relations economically, bolstering Japan's confidence in Thailand and strengthening ties between the two nations.
During his visit, Gen Prayut will meet his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on various aspects of cooperation, covering economic, security and regional issues.
Meanwhile, the government spokesman had also affirmed that Japanese investors have confidence in the Thai economy.
The Japanese investors have made more investment in their companies in Thailand during the country's political unrest, he said.
