The army urged Cambodia on Tuesday not to jump the conclusion that their citizens had been killed by Thai soldiers while crossing the border to Si Sa Ket.

Army spokesman Col Winthai Suwaree said the cause of the deaths of three Cambodian men at the border on Feb 5 remains inconclusive and authorities are still looking into it.

He made the statement after the Cambodian Foreign Ministry sent a protest note to the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh on Friday after Ket Yet, Keu Rina and another person identified only as Tha were killed after entering Thailand.

One Cambodian was seriously injured in the incident, according to the Cambodian National Police Commission.

On Feb 9, the Cambodia National Rescue Party sent a letter to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha alleging two Cambodians could have been burned alive by Thai soldiers after crossing the border to Thailand's Sa Kaeo and demanded an independent panel to look into the case.
