RATCHABURI – The Public Warehouse Organisation is moving its stock of broken rice from a warehouse in Muang district to another location to end a plague of large months that has been annoying villagers for months.

The huge number of moths attracted to the SP warehouse in tambon Lum Din have been annoying  local residents for at least three months, entering their houses at night.

Attempts to control the infestation with fumigation have proven ineffective with the moths moving into the villagers’ homes instead.

On Monday morning the PWO deployed 10 18-wheel trailer trucks to start moving the grain from the warehouse to another storage facility in tambon Khao Raeng.

Karnpitch Boonmak, chief of the PWO office in Ratchaburi, said the warehouse stored broken rice, which was food for moths, so the removal of the grain should help solve the problem.

The PWO expected to complete the task within two weeks.
