THAI flight hits air pocket, 11 injured

A Thai Airways International plane en route from Japan to Thailand hit an air pocket on Thursday, injuring 11 people.

THAI president Charamporn Jotikasthira said the A340-600 jet flight TG641 from Narita airport, with 227 passengers, two pilots and 22 crew members on board, faced unpredictable weather conditions en route to Suvarnahumi airport at 21,000 feet.

Mr Charamporn said 11 passengers and crew members were injured and were taken to hospital for treatment after the aircraft reached Bangkok at 3.51pm.

Flight TG641 left Tokyo at 10.45am (8.45am Thailand time).
