The Criminal Court on Friday accepted a lawsuit filed by a doctor against rock star Sek Loso for defaming him and his family on Facebook.

Angun Pataragorn, the deputy director of the Thanyarak Institute in Pathum Thani, said his troubles began after Sek's estranged wife Wiphakorn "Karn" Sookpimay escorted the doctor to the family home in September last year. She had sought out the doctor to talk to the 40-year-old rock star (real name Seksan Sookpimay) who had a history of drug addiction.

Dr Angun was in charge of Sek's case in 2012 when the rocker was admitted to the institute to treat his hard drugs habit.

Sek lashed out at Dr Angun for "invading" his home, said the complaint filed by the doctor's lawyer, Vorapop Thapsart. The rocker then posted rude messages to defame the physician and his mother on his Facebook page between Sept 19 and 21, said the suit. The comments ruined the reputation of the plaintiff, the complaint said.

The court found the case had grounds and accepted it for consideration. It set April 20 for the examination of evidence.
