Teacher 'demanded sex for grades'

Si Sa Ket Rajabhat University has dismissed a lecturer who allegedly tried to force a student to have sex with him in exchange for higher grades.

The lecturer, Chatchai Chaiyotha, was found guilty of misconduct and dismissed from his job after an inquiry by the university’s personnel administration committee, according to a statement issued by the university.

The lecturer’s misconduct came to light after the female student telephoned another teacher on Nov 25 last year. She told the teacher that Mr Chatchai had taken her to a hotel room and that she needed to be rescued.

The student said the lecturer wanted to have sex with her in exchange for being given “A” grades in the subject he taught.
