Train, truck collide in Lop Buri

Four passengers were slightly injured after a local train hit a truck at a railroad crossing in Chai Badan district of Lop Buri Wednesday, the State Railway of Thailand said.

Train No 439 from Kaeng Khoi station in Saraburi to Bua Yai station in Nakhon Ratchasima clashed an 18-wheeler as it was attempting to cross the track in Chai Badan at 1.10pm.

Four passengers on the train were slightly hurt, the SRT said on its Facebook page. The crossing has a warning sign for drivers to beware of coming trains, it added.

Thanongsak Pongprasert, an SRT official in charge of operations, told Thai Rath Online that the tracks were closed for repairs and could be reopened at 8pm. The injured passengers were sent to a hospital nearby, the official added.
