Mild earthquake shakes Phuket

A 3.8-magnitude earthquake occurred early Wednesday morning off the east coast of Phuket.

People onshore in both Phuket and Phangnga provinces said they felt the shake but there were no casualties or damage reported.

The Seismology Office of the Thai Meteorological Department reported that the quake happened at 5.32am, with the epicentre at a depty of 23 kilometres in the sea, about 13km off the Phuket province coastline.

There was no tsunami warning.
