Sixty-two people were killed and 516 injured in nationwide road accidents on the third of the "seven dangerous days" (April 9-15) of the Songkran Festival, according to the Interior Ministry's Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department.
The figures added up the three-day road toll to 121 killed and 1,251 injured.
As usual, most or 35.77% of the accidents were caused by drink-driving, followed by speeding driving, 25 %.
Most of the accidents occurred between 4pm - 8pm.
Yesterday, Surin was the province with the highest number of accidents (24) with 28 injuries and the highest number of deaths, six, was recorded in Roi-et province.
