NCPO transfers Suthasri to new post

Permanent secretary for education Suthasri Wongsaman has been transferred to the Office of the Education Council.

Suthasri: Due to retire in five months

The transfer follows an order from National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) chief Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Ms Suthasri, who is due to retire in five months' time, will work as secretary-general of the Education Council, according to the Royal Gazette which published the order exercised under Section 44 of the interim charter.

Kamjorn Tatiyakavee, currently secretary-general of the Office of the Higher Education Commission, is to replace Ms Suthasri in the top job at the Education Ministry.

The former permanent secretary said she will carry on working on education reform in her new role.

As a state official, Mrs Suthasri said, she can work anywhere in many state agencies.
