A leading herbal product firm on Tuesday distributed about two million baht in cash to almost 6,000 elderly people in Nakhon Si Thammarat’s Pak Phanang district as part of the company’s policy to return profits to society.

Aged and disabled people from Pak Phanang district were each given 300 baht in cash by Twin Lotus Co at a hotel owned by the company in the southern province.

Each of the almost 6,000 people also received a package containing the firm’s products and food, Thai media reported.

Nakhon Si Thammarat governor Peerasak Hinmuangkao presided over the handouts of cash at the gathering, organised by Sunantha Leelertphan, president of Twin Lotus Group and other family members.

The firm manufactures Twin Lotus toothpaste and other herbal products, and has given annual cash handouts after the Songkran festival for the last 20 years, under a programme to return profits to the elderly in Pak Phanang, the hometown of company executives, according to Thai media reports.
