Popular actor-cum-singer Pakin “Tono” Khamwilaisak has admitted he was at fault for causing his ex-actress girlfriend Pattaratida "Tangmo" Patcharaveerapong to resort to a sleeping pill overdose. But he insists that it is all over and he will not return to her.
The 29-year-old singer broke his silence during a press interview on Wednesday evening. He said he had already cleared up everything with the actress before they ended their romance.
Tangmo, 31, a television star, was hospitalised at Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital on Monday night, two days after her former fiancé Tono announced their spilt on a concert stage in front of a huge crowd of his fans.
When asked if what he said on the stage was part of a script prepared by his concert team, he replied, "Whether it was scripted or not, it's wrong. I should not have said it".
He apologised for what he had done that might have hurt her feelings.
He was concerned about the actress’s condition after seeng images of her receiving medical treatment for a sleeping pill overdose. He sighed with relief upon learning she was safe.
"Everything between us started from love. If I could turn back the clock ... I would still choose to love Mo (Tangmo). However, things did not run as smoothly as I thought they would. Our relations may not end beautifully as we expected."
When the incident happened on Monday, no one, including his family, was happy, said the singer and TV star. He did not reveal what had caused their relationship to fail.
Tangmo’s friend and variety talk show host Paeza Pichaipusit posted on his Instragram “paezaa_pb” two photos and a clip of the actress, wearing Tono's military-style jacket, asleep on a hospital bed in the intensive care unit on Monday night.
The clip showed Tangmo crying while receiving medical help after taking a pack of 10 sleeping pills in an apparent suicide attempt. Rumours spread that Tono’s announcement during his music concert at Impact Arena on July 4-5 that he was single again might have triggered his ex-girlfriend’s actions.
