Buriram United supporters hurt in bus crash

An air-conditioned bus crashed on a roadside in Nakhon Ratchasima's Sung Noen district late on Saturday night, injuring 45 supporters of Buriram United Football Club, four of them seriously, police said.

The bus was taking 50 fans of Buriram United from Saraburi back to Buriram province when its left front tyre burst. The bus skidded off the road between kilometre markers 25-26 on Pak Thong Chai-Sung Noen road near Ban Nong Waeng in Sung Noen district and crashed into a tree.

The accident occurred at about 11.20pm.

Rescuers of a charity foundation in Sung Noen district rushed to the scene and found 45 fans were injured, four of them seriously. Ambulances took 31 of the injured to Sung Noen Hospital and 14 to Pak Thong Chai Hospital.

The Buriram United supporters had earlier witnessed their team beat Saraburi FC 2-1 in an away game.
