The science faculty at Prince of Songkla University is searching for a man who claims to be a deputy dean and who has been flashing fake credentials to secure advisory jobs and speaking gigs.

The faculty on Thursday issued an announcement denying any knowledge of the man who has been handing out cards around Songkhla province bearing the name "Assist Prof Dr Panuwat Lertsuwansit". He claims to hold a doctorate degree and work as a deputy dean for student affairs and physics lecturer at Prince of Songkla.

The man approached several state agencies and organisations in Songkhla, as well as academics at educational institutes seeking advisory jobs in education management and guest speaker assignments.

Several agencies contacted the university to check whether he was a deputy dean as claimed.

The science faculty stressed that the man was not in its employ and urged those who find or come into contact with him to notify the school at 074-288 022 or via email at sci-pr@group.psu.ac.th.

The faculty vowed to take legal action against him for impersonating a university employee for fraudulent purposes.
