The Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) urged households to redeem coupons for digital TV set-top boxes this week because millions of them will expire on Friday.
The office stated on Monday that it distributed 13.57 million coupons worth 690 baht each. Of them, 6.42 million were delivered in the first and second lots and would expire on July 31.
Of all the distributed coupons, about 54% or 7.3 million were redeemed. At that rate, about 2.97 million unredeemed coupons will expire this Friday.
Recipients of the coupons to expire this Friday are in 42 provinces including Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Bangkok, Chachoengsao, Chai Nat, Nakhon Nayok, Nakhon Pathom, Nong Khai, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Phatthalung, Ratchaburi, Rayong, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Sing Buri, Songkhla, Suphan Buri, Sukhothai and Udon Thani.
Those who had not received the coupons should contact their local post offices or the NBTC's 1200 call centre.
