The band's fan club made the temple look small as devotees joined family members, friends and politicians at the cremation for the guitarist.

His father Veerakan made the final eulogy praising the determination of his 31-year-old son to succeed in music and said he was touched by sentiments by other musicians and admirers of Prachathip since the first day of the chanting ceremony.

His girlfriend and musician Pornpavee "Faye" Neerasingh promised in the memorial book that she would take care of herself. "Love u always baby. FayeSingha,'' she wrote.

Reports said Prachathip had written in a suicide note that romatic problems were the reason behind his decision to take his own life.

The indie band achieved moderate fame with their two albums Art Yang Mai Sai in 2007 and Mai Mee Thee Ma' in 2011.
