The Myanmar embassy on Tuesday warned its citizens to avoid 10 potential danger zones in Bangkok following Monday’s deadly bomb blast at the popular Erawan shrine.
In a statement, the embassy urged all Myanmar nationals "to take serious caution" and avoid going to areas it said are "likely to be targeted and have been declared dangerous areas", the Democratic Voice of Burma reported on Tuesday.
The areas specified were the intersections at Ratchaprasong, Pathuwan, Sala Daeng, Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra, and Tuek Chai; Khao San Road, Victory Monument, Benjasiri Park, Soi Thong Lor and Sukhumvit Road.
The first on the list, Ratchaprasong intersection, is where last night's bomb went off inside the popular Hindu shrine complex where many devotees gather to pray and tourists take photographs. Twenty people were killed and 125 hurt.
No Myanmar nationals were reported to have been killed or injured.
An estimated 2-3 million Myanmar citizens live or work in Thailand, the majority being paid below the minimum wage in industries such as construction, agriculture and factory work.
