One in five travellers booked on Thai Airways International (THAI) changed their flight plans for Thailand after the bomb explosion at the Erawan Shrine on Ratchaprasong intersection on Monday.
Airline president Charamporn Jotikasthira said on Wednesday that flight changes had been made for about 20% of all booked tickets for travel to, out of and around Thailand.
There had been no flight cancellations following the bomb blast on Aug 17, that left 20 dead and 125 wounded, he said.
THAI announced on Tuesday it would temporarily waive rebooking fees for passengers who changed their flights because of the explosion in Bangkok.
The waiver applied to tickets issued by THAI sale offices in Thailand and overseas, and tickets booked online via the airline’s website prior for travel between Aug 18 and Sept 18, 2015.
Mr Charamporn expressed confidence the situation would quickly return to normal, and said all agencies were cooperting. He believed the government would restore the situation and Thailand's tourism image.
THAI maintained its target of 19 million passengers this year, with the revenue target at 180 billion baht, the airline president said.
