Flooding continued in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Rayong and Ubon Ratchathani provinces on Monday due to persistent rain.
Chatchai Phromlert, director-general of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, said that flooding was affecting a total of eight districts: Ban Na and Ongkharak in Nakhon Nayok; Ban Sang, Kabin Buri, Muang and Si Maha Phot in Prachin Buri; Muang district of Rayong and Muang district of Ubon Ratchathani.
The rain had stopped in all the areas and flooding should subside in a few days, he said.
However, he said that if it rained again, runoff and flash floods would be possible in the North, Northeast, Central Plain and East.
As a high-pressure area was covering the upper part of the country and a monsoon reached the Central Plain, the East and the upper South, heavy rain was possible, Mr Chatchai said.
