At least 300 houses in 26 villages of Nakhon Sawan province have been inundated by storm runoff pouring out of the Mae Wong National Park since late Sunday.

Incessant rain caused the flooding to communities in Mae Lay sub-district in Mae Wong district of Nakhon Sawan. Damage included washed out roads leading to the Kaeng Lan Nok Yoong and Kaeng Koh Yai rapids in the Mae Wong National Park.

Residents were moving their valuables to higher ground as the water streamed continuously from the park. At least 10,000 rai of farmland was inundated.

Authorities also warned people in adjacent Lat Yao district of Nakhon Sawan to prepare for flooding as that district stands downstream from Mae Wong.
