Pattaya song-taew driver returns tourist’s money

PATTAYA — A song-taew driver has been praised for returning a bag containing about 30,000 baht and some necessary documents to a South Korean tourist who left it inside his vehicle in the resort town on Friday, said police.

Chatupong Wongsuree took the shoulder bag left in his vehicle to Pattaya police to help find the owner. The bag contained 500,000 South Korean won (or 15,700 baht), a passport and a SIM card. Police later contacted the tourist to get his belongings.

The bag was returned to the South Korean man on Friday, witnessed by Pol Lt Col Pawatchai Sudsakhon, deputy chief of Pattaya.

The South Korean tourist said he felt happy to get back his bag as it contained necessary documents. He thanked the driver for his honesty.
