Doctors have amputated actor Thrisadee "Por" Sahawong's left foot to contain a severe infection.
Ramathibodi Hospital said yesterday the doctors performed the amputation on Saturday.
Por, who was admitted to Ramathibodi Hospital on Nov 9 with dengue fever, also underwent surgery to stop internal bleeding of his left lung.
The hospital said the actor's blood pressure is stabilising and so are his liver and kidney functions which were affected by the infection.
The actor remains on life support and he has also been administered a muscle relaxant drug to help his breathing.
Por is also still being administered with blood pressure stimulant medication as well as antibiotics and kidney dialysis.
The doctors confirmed there is no longer any trace of dengue in the actor's system.
He remains in the critical care unit at the hospital.
