Ten members of a teen gang believed responsible for a string of night-time robberies have been arrested for allegedly knifing to death a Bangkok bakery employee for his Apple iPad.

A team of city police arrested Patcharapong ''Hui'' Saengduen, 19, and nine other alleged gang members in separate raids on two houses in Bang Sue district Thursday night.

Seized from them were four motorcycles they allegedly used for hteir crime spree.

The arrests came after Somchai Sa-ardjit, 28, an employee of the S&P bakery outlet at Shinawatra Tower 2, was stabbed to death while he was playing his iPad in front of the building on Phahol Yothin Road in Phaya Thai district on Nov 22.

The attack was captured by closed-circuit television cameras and showed the gang fleeing with the tablet computer afterward.

The suspects confessed to having killed Mr Somchai and robbing him. One member, identified only as Jab, 17, stabbed the victim, police said.

They told police that they had carried out robberies in areas under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Police Division 2 in Bangkok and Nonthaburi province every night. Before looking for their targets, they would gather at Mr Patcharapong's house.
