PATTAYA — A 69-year-old British man suffered facial injuries after being assaulted by two transvestites when he rejected their offer of sex early Saturday.

Leslie Murphy told police that he was walking along Jomtien beach in the early hours of Saturday when a group of transvestites in the area walked toward him and began to hug and fondle him. They offered to provide sex services but he declined. He shouted at them and walked away.

When he arrived at the entrance of Jomtien Soi 7, he was stopped by two of the ladyboys on a motorcycle. One of them struck his face with a motorcycle helmet before fleeing, he said.

He then sought help from a motorcycle taxi driver at a nearby queue to take him to the police station. He filed a complaint with Pol Lt Jakkrit Chantakham, a duty officer at the Pattaya station, at 4am on Saturday.

The injured tourist was given first aid at the station before being sent to Bang Lamung Hospital. Police are looking for his attackers.
