Two Don Mueang-based airlines have announced the cancellation of many flights on Friday and Saturday because of the airshow planned there by the Royal Thai Air Force on Children’s Day, Jan 9.

Nok Air and Thai AirAsia said about 40 flights would be affected over the two days.

Travellers whose flights are not cancelled are advised to arrive early and allow at least one hour for check-in as the rehearsal on Friday and airshow on Saturday could cause added delays.

Don Mueang Airport manager Phet Chan-charoen said the air force planned both ground and aerial displays on Saturday between 8am and 3pm, which would affect commercial aviation.

The show times are 08.15 - 09.05; 09.50 - 10.30; 11.20 - 11.50; 12.40 - 13.30 and 14.20 - 15.00.

Nok Air advised passengers can check updated flight details on its website http://www.nokair.com under Manage Your Booking.  Thai AirAsia said affected passengers would be notified by SMS and email.
