A Mahachai-Wong Wian Yai passenger train derailed after a wheel on its last carriage skidded off the track in Bangkok’s Talat Phlu area on Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported.

The derailment occured at an intersection about 100 metres away from Wutthakat Road in Talat Phlu of Thon Buri district around 7.35am today, said police.

An inspection found a wheel of the last car skipped off the track, causing the train to stop. Railway officials asked all passengers to disembark.

Service on the route was suspended temporarily pending repairs.
