The co-founder of Maepranom chili paste and her daughter agreed on Tuesday to end their family business conflict following talks brokered by PM’s Office Minister Panadda Diskul.

Pranom Daengsupha told reporters after a two-hour meeting at Woradis Palace that the quarrel with her eldest daughter, Siriporn, was over and she will go back home soon.

The woman, who founded Phiboonchai Maepranom Thai Chili Paste Co with her husband, Sirichai, and turned the firm into a multibillion baht business, said she will withdraw all lawsuits against her daughter after her demands were agreed to in the meeting.

Phiboonchai Maepranom Thai Chili Paste Co Ltd was started in 1959 by Mr Sirichai and Mrs Pranom Daengsupha and used this photo of the founder as its now-iconic brand.

ML Panadda opened his palace residence for talks where Mrs Pranom and her daughter met for the first time after the company co-founder filed a petition to the government on Friday alleging Mrs Siriporn of grabbing control of the firm without the consent of herself and other family members.

ML Panadda offered to intervene on Saturday because Mrs Pranom's decision to seek help from the government showed her faith in the administration to sort out the problem.

Mrs Pranom and her daughter have two court cases. One was a criminal charge of falsifying land documents filed at the provincial court in Nakhon Pathom, and other was a civil case filed in Taling Chan Provincial Court over family assets.

On Saturday, she signalled she would forgive her daughter if Mrs Siriporn admitted her guilt and returned all assets.

The company, located in Bangkok's Thawi Wattana district, had registered capital of 59 million baht and turned a net profit of 24.5 million baht last year, Isra News Centre said, quoting information from the Business Development Department.
