Summer storms warning for 47 provinces

People in 47 provinces in the North, Northeast, Central and East have been warned to brace for summer storms from today to April 17, Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department chief Chatchai Promlert said on Tuesday.

Mr Chatchai said the Meteorological Department said a low-pressure area covered upper Thailand, bringing overall hot spells and haze during the day, while southerly winds were bringing humidity from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.

This would cause isolated thundershowers and gusty winds in the North, Northeast, Central and East between April 12-17.

People in 47 provinces should be prepared for this.

They are:

  • Tak, Uttaradit, Phetchabun, Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok and Lampang in the North (13);
