The greatest damage was caused in Si Satchanalai district of Sukhothai, where more than 200 houses were unroofed or otherwise damaged.
In Lampang province, about 150 houses suffered and 10 high-voltage power poles were toppled in Sop Prap district. Many villages were facing a continued blackout until repairs are completed.
In Nan province, about 100 houses and a school were damaged in Muang Nan district. The storm also damaged houses in Na Muen district.
About 40 houses were damaged in Wang Chao district of Tak, while seven houses shared the same fate in Pak Chong and Sikhiu districts of Nakhon Ratchasima.
In Surin province, about 150 houses were damaged in Chom Phra, Kap Choeng and Sangkha districts. A thunderbolt killed a water buffalo there.
The Meteorological Department reported on Tuesday that more seasonal storms were likely in the upper part of Thailand on Thursday and Friday as a southeast wind brings humidity from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand to the country.
