The girlfriend of one of the six suspects accused of killing a disabled man has been charged with colluding in the murder and police will tomorrow seek court approval to detain her.

The 18-year-old woman, accompanied by her relatives, turned herself in to police at the Chokechai police station on Friday night to acknowledge the charge after a warrant had been issued for her arrest.

Acting city police chief Sanit Mahathaworn and senior police officers jointly interrogated the woman, a friend of Monmanas Saengpho, one of the six suspects involved in the deadly brawl on May 1.

During the interrogation, the woman admitted she was at the scene at the time, but denied posting messages on her Facebook page threatening Anantachai Chaidet, a lawyer who witnessed the attack, as alleged.

Mr Anantachai, whose law firm is located near the crime scene, filed a complaint on Thursday at the police station against the woman for allegedly posting messages on the Facebook page C'Gamez Chadade, threatening to harm him and attack his law firm, in violation of the Computer Crime Act.

The lawyer witnessed the deadly brawl. The six men involved in the attack were later arrested by Chokechai police on May 1 after an altercation with Somkiat Sichan, who had a leg disability, turned violent. Somkiat, a bread delivery man, was stabbed to death and one attacker was seriously wounded.

The violence in Bangkok's Lat Phrao district erupted after the suspects made fun of Somkiat's job. Their conflict over a motorcycle incident is also believed to have helped start the attack.

Two of the suspects are identified as Akkaradet Thatsana, 22, and an 18-year-old boy. The other four, who are the sons of police officers, are Phiraphon Kerdjapo, 21; Arin Yotphonganan, 20; Mek Phonkraison, 19; and Mr Monmanat, 22.

Pol Lt Gen Sanit said police investigators had interrogated several witnesses and one of them confirmed the accused woman had threatened the lawyer during the brawl. A warrant was then issued for her arrest for colluding in the murder.

During the interrogation, the woman admitted she had made the remark: "If my boyfriend is put in jail, I will take your life" during the brawl. But she claimed she did it on impulse.

She insisted she had not posted any online messages threatening to harm the lawyer and the C'Gamez Chadade Facebook page did not belong to her.

The woman refused to give an interview about what happened during the brawl.

Police will take her to the Criminal Court on Sunday to seek detention for the first round pending further investigation. The officers opposed a bail request.
