The Meteorological Department on Tuesday warned people in some provinces in the North, the Northeast, the East and the Central regions to brace themselves for thunderstorms and gusty winds from Wednesday to Monday.
The department said on Tuesday that the high pressure system over upper Thailand is causing hot and extremely hot weather in the North, the Northeast, the Central and the East this week.
During May 11-16, southerly winds and southeasterly winds would bring humidity from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand to the North, the Northeast, the East and the Central regions.
People living in the four regions were advisedto stay away from big trees, billboards and unsecured buildings during this period.
