A 46-year-old Chinese tourist fell to her death from the eighth floor of a hotel in Bangkok’s Huai Kwang district early on Thursday.
The woman's body was found face-down on the ground at the hotel on Soi Ratchadaphisek 12 about 6am.
She was identified as Liang Fang, Thai media reported on Thursday.
Witnesses told police the woman and her husband were with a Chinese tour group that checked in at the hotel on Thursday evening. The couple were booked into a room on the eighth floor.
Her husband told police that when he woke up his wife was not there. He asked hotel staff to help look for her. She was found dead on the ground at the base of the hotel, Thai media reported.
Police said they would examine security camera footage during their investigation.
