Nine people were injured when a public bus operating between Bang Bua Thong and Bang Lamphu collided with a pickup truck in Bangkok’s Phra Nakhon district on Sunday morning.

The No. 127 bus was travelling on Tanao Road when it hit head-on with the Isuzu pickup truck at Sibsang Hang intersection near Wat Bowon Niwet, said Pol Lt Detwut Utharasart, a deputy investigation chief at Chana Songkhram police station. The accident was reported at around 5.30am.

The force of the crash caused the public bus to hit the median strip. Nine people, including two people on the bus, and seven on the pickup truck, were hurt. They were rushed to two nearby hospitals.

Bus driver Suksan Wanlaelor, 47, and pickup truck driver Ratchapol Charnwiwat, 24, were among the injured. All are in a safe condition.

Police will later question the two injured drivers to find the cause of the crash.
