The Ministry of Public Health confirmed on Wednesday that 14 more people had died from the A(H1N1) swine flu virus last week, bringing the country’s flu death toll from April 26 to Aug 15 to 111.
Of the total new flu victims, seven were male and seven female, according to Phaichit Varachit, the ministry's permanent secretary.
Of the new victims, 12 of them had underlying health problems ranging from obesity and heart disease to diabetes, Mr Phaichit said.
"The situation is stable in Bangkok and the surround provinces but the virus is on the rise upcountry and we expect the outbreak to continue for the next two months until the cool season begins," a government statement said.
The ministry last week reported an accumulated flu death toll of 97.
