    @fundeena: thanks for the reminder
    Will work on it, really.
    Having said that......i don't use drugs.....so it's not 'one goes with the other'.

    What I see most in Thailand is: alcohol. Whiskey.
    9 out of 10 times....a Thai guy will ask, or rather say:'lets go drink whiskey'.
    I can just wait for that line.
    It doesn't surprise me that Thais get that habit at a young age.
    It's like 'som tam'....haven't met one yet that doesn't like it.

    Although it should not happen, i can understand why there are many people
    in Thailand that use alcohol and drugs...carelessly...just from the hopeless
    situation they are in: poverty, being discriminated, looked down upon, without
    prospect of a decent life, without opportunities.
    A person who doesn't feel he is cared about, or counts, eventually doesn't care
    about others and what they think, and ultimately doesn't care about himself.

    Cigarettes and alcohol are the gateway drugs. If people start smoking when young it is easier to become addicted. People must realize that smoking cigarettes is a waste of time and money as well as being a hazard to their health and the health of those around them. You can quit. It is not that hard. Get the monkey off your back. You will not be sorry. Just do it.
