Healthy pumpkin added to Sizzler's selection
Sizzler's continues its search for the finest and healthiest ingredients to contribute to a better lifestyle. Recently, it has introduced fresh vegetables from the Royal Project such as tomato, beetroot, butterhead lettuce, courgette, Japanese cucumber and baby cos. They come straight from the Royal Project Vegetables and Herbs Farm at Doi Inthanon, Chiang Mai, to the hands of Sizzler's customers at its Kad Suan Kaew, CentralPlaza Chiang Mai and CentralPlaza Chiang Rai branches.
The latest addition to its salad bar is the environment-friendly Japanese pumpkin grown at Mok Jam in Chiang Mai.
"The Royal Project grows pumpkins in three major areas, which are Mok Jam, Wat Chan and Mad Ngo. In 2011, we have grown over 250-300 tonnes of Japanese pumpkins. They can be grown all year round, but the best produce is from October to April," according to Wirot Chudam, Royal Project staff member who oversees the growing of Japanese pumpkins.
